Alex Krieger, FAIA has combined a career of teaching and practice, dedicating himself in both to understanding how to improve the quality of place and life in major urban areas. Mr. Krieger is a principal at NBBJ, a global architecture and planning firm, and a professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he has taught since 1977 and served as chair of the Department of Urban Planning and Design from 1997-2004. He is a frequent advisor to mayors and their planning departments, lectures regularly at conferences and universities in the U.S. and abroad and was appointed in 2012 to the U.S Commission of Fine Arts by President Obama.
