Laurent Vernerey has been associated with Schneider Electric and its products since 1985, when he joined the firm through the acquisition of Telemecanique. He spent three years in Schneider Electric in France as Director, Information Systems.

From 1989, he held various positions in key businesses including Merlin Gerin and Square D in the US. His experience encompasses a wide range of senior management roles in fields such as information systems, distribution, administration sales purchasing, customer service and manufacturing.

In 2000, he joined Schneider Electric’s parent company in France and was appointed Vice-President of the Activity Low Voltage (ABT) and then Senior Vice-President Manufacturing & Logistics, before leading, in July 2003, the Pacific’s Zone of Schneider Electric in Australia and served as Managing Director.

In 2007, Schneider Electric acquired APC and combined its industry leadership with that of MGE UPS SYSTEMS. Laurent was appointed President and CEO of APC by Schneider Electric, a
$3 billion (2.4€ billion) global provider of Critical Power & Cooling Services with 12,000 employees worldwide.

He formed the IT Business of Schneider Electric and was appointed Executive-Vice President. He became a member of the Executive Committee of Schneider Electric.

Early January 2013, Laurent Vernerey was named Executive Vice-President End-User Business Group, covering 2 businesses (Industry Business, IT Business) and 4 divisions (Smart Infrastructure, Professional Services, Buildings, Energy) of Schneider Electric.

In October 2013, Laurent Vernerey was handed the leadership of Schneider North America, assuming responsibility for all operations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
